After extensive conversations with hotels in New Orleans, Trainers Travel will not be running a hotel block for the North American International Championship.

A strong competition clause is in effect during International Championships, written by the third-party housing partner that handles official block negotiations for major events of this scale. This clause prevents hotels from offering any discount off their public rate to outside groups during the event window. Despite the volume we would bring, multiple properties returned the same answer.

Trainers Travel exists to deliver real savings to the community. If we cannot offer a meaningful discount, we will not take a piece of your booking just to put our label on the room. That is not what we are here for.

While the same competition clause is in effect for the World Championship, there is significantly more hotel volume outside of that clause, which gives us room to negotiate on behalf of the community. We are in active negotiations and will share news as it develops.

Our long-term goal is to become the primary travel partner for the competitive Pokémon community, building something around what players actually need. Thank you for your continued support of what we are building.
